The MicroniK Z3i was not really all it was cracked up to be, though it was a
nice piece of engineering indeed. Basically you need an A3000/4000 style
fast slot fixing accelerator to activate Zorro III, otherwise you will still
have Zorro II and therefore the limiting 24bit Zorro II limitations.
The A3/4000 CPU card provides the extra Zorro III lines missing from the
Zorro II style A1200 accelerator. So if you have a Blizzard PPC, it'll only
function at Zorro II style. Guess you'd need a Cyberstorm PPC then!
Quite expensive...
And I'm not even sure if the Z3i performed totally reliably with all Z3
cards either. And couple the fact that it'll perform not that much faster
than Z2 anyway because of the A1200's Z2 style accelerator slot...
The last thing I heard was that it was £320... Ouch! :)
